The ongoing Suarez rumors…
By: Adams | October 20th, 2009He has scored 25 goals in 25 games, and has been listed among the brightest Eredivisie players in the last 20 years and rightfully so. Suarez has also been proving to be valuable for the Uruguayan national team, which has also drawn attention from some of the best teams in Europe.
It’s only natural for a player with his skill and mentality to want to move on in terms of proving himself in larger league. But I honestly hope he doesn’t leave this January, which will leave Ajax in a similar state as last season when Huntelaar left for Real mid-season. We are far too dependent on Suarez, and losing him would be the end of our season. Suarez has proven to be our main goalscorer and really our offensive catalyst, and although I think he needs to move on eventually, for the sake of the club he needs to stay until this summer. We simply cannot afford to make the same mistake twice; having Suarez at Ajax is priceless to us. I’m just worried that comments like the ones our technical staff are making at the moment will only welcome more offers, and then Suarez could really be on his way out in January.
Furthermore, this past weekend when Suarez scored against Willem, he held on tight to his shirt and showing everyone how much he liked playing for Ajax. I know it sucks every time, I read a rumor about him leaving, and I think the gesture was appreciated by all Ajacieden. We might not know what the future holds for Suarez, but I’m just happy I got to witness another wonderful player play for Ajax for the time being.
For those who don’t know what all the hype is about….(Some clips)

Look at the bright side of things… judging by your beloved Huntelaar’s performance so far, you might have a chance to get him back in January if Suarez leaves.

I think Suarez will stay for another season. With the current crisis I doubt other clubs will be willing to pay a surely big amount of money for him in mid season (I´ve heard about 28 million). Besides, one only has to look to the Huntelaar situation to think twice about moving from a club with a lot playing time and chance for growth, to virtually the opposite situation….

No thanks on the Huntelaar. He just had to run off to Real Madrid, he is not even our youth product. If its his choice to continue to ruin his career then so be it. Good point, Ragnar, anything less than 25 million would be terrible for Suarez. It could be too much, but I think teams like AC Milan, Liverpool and even United could afford that. You never know what desperate teams are capable off…I really hope it doesn’t happen.

The only reason technical staff are publicly drawing attention to him, is because they know that he will eventually leave, I suppose, so they want his reputation, and therefore pricetag, to be as big as possible when they sell him.
Still, I hope Ajax can hold on to te boy for another season.Posted from
