Hopefully he'll have a good year again and possibly increase interest and value (if that's possible) because Ajax will be rubbish without him. But then again they'll still probably be close to the top of the league even if that happens because the Eredivisie is really weak right now. Anyway, on with the season and time for KJH to help Ajax win something before he leaves.

Wow. Not one, but two, offers for KJH at the last minute. And one of the offers was for 40M euros. My guess is the offers came from Real Madrid and Manchester City.

I thought this was a good transfer period for Ajax. Mainly due to the addition by subtraction. Getting some exciting young players like Sulejmani and Aissati are great additions, but getting rid of dead weight like Luque and Collin was just as important. Plus, the club kept KJH. That was the biggest storyline of the entire summer, so the fact that the club survived the transfer window with him still on the roster makes it a good transfer period (even if I still don't think he's the most important player).

The one weakness I see from this transfer window at Ajax: defense. Oleuger looks to be a good addition, but there's no depth at the back, and I would've like to see a second or third defender signing instead of a fifth midfielder signing.

I don't think Ajax did too well this summer. It seems to me MvB signed whatever was available. Sno? Aissati? I can understand the signing of some of the exciting attackers with the tough names to spell, but I expect managers/coaches to look at their team and sign players who will fill spots that need it. Like defenders? Instead of signing all those potential exciting players for midfield
