Match Preview: Roda JC
By: Matt | September 13th, 2008International breaks are supposed to give a squad a chance to get healthy, right? At the very least, few teams manage to come out of a nice, long break more short-handed than they went in. Ajax, however, has done just that. When Roda JC comes to Amsterdam tomorrow, Ajax will look like they could use another break. All of this and a midweek UEFA tie looming, Marco claims tomorrow is a “must-win.” I hope he knows what he is doing.
Gabri is still doubtful with his ankle injury. Hopefully, he will be ready next Thursday. Aissati picked up a knee injury in training this week, knocking him out for two weeks. Bruno Silva and Suarez both returned from national duty late yesterday, and so will probably be unavailable Sunday. It now seems that getting Sno’s red card rescinded was key.
So, a lineup? Your guess is as good as mine. Rumors abound that recent arrival Eyong Enoh from Cape Town will start. Leonardo might be useful, but he is apparently contemplating a move to Qatar.

All things considered, though, if the boss says it is a must-win, then we know we will come out swinging. Of course, MvB probably thinks it is a must-win because he cannot afford to lose the goodwill of the home crowd. I mean, c’mon, a must-win match on day 2?

Maybe switch Rommedahl out for Cvinatich? Very mediocre midfield, unless Urby can really step up his play.
