A feeder club agreement really only benefits the bigger side that’s being “fed.” A club like Ajax which should have bigger ambitions, and in fact has a much more trophied history than Arsenal, shouldn’t go for such a deal. Reaching the level of Sevilla, Lyon, Valencia, and Porto should be their goal. Once they do, they can think about returning to being a continental superpower, which they can’t do if they’re a feeder club.

I would MUCH rather focus effort and energy on boosting youth development and the academy squads within Ajax instead of cementing a relationship where we just wait for the youth scraps falling from the Arsenal dinner table.

Nice article. I agree a league merger with the Belgians is a much better idea-short and long term-than this feeder club stepchild nonsense.
