Love this site Matt, nice work. Yeah, trying to get all these old players in there to 'fix' Ajax is definitely an interesting idea. On one hand I'd rather see them keep it in the familiy like this then watch them try to bring in some international hired gun-Mourinho-Capello type and most likely get burned in the process. On the other hand of course, if THIS blows up in their face its going to be soooooooo ugly and embarrising....I mean it will just be so bad for Dutch voetbal in general if a star studded Dutch coaching staff and front office cant save Holland's most storied team.

Jon, me too. Me too.
SydAjax, I have nothing but respect for Blind. Letting him go was probably a mistake to begin with. But van basten, Bergkamp, Blind, almost Cruijff. Are they even looking at resumes or are they just watching old match tapes? And nice site, by the way.

As for Bradley...I was definitely disappointed to see that happen, I love hearing the Dutch game announcer pronounce "Braudleeey". He's a great young player though and his absence removed any mystery that may have been left in this tie. Up until he got the card, Heerenveen were pressing pretty hard and were the better team. I'm sure I'm not the only person that would admit to being slightly worried in those first 20 minutes...

Agreed...putting Blind in the mix seems a bit out of left field, but Blind always did seem to be more of a quiet leader who I wouldnt see getting in VB's "way". Maybe they just felt bad for letting him go after winning the Beker :)
