A Stirring Farewell
By: Matt | April 27th, 2008Ajax may have lost the title by a nose, but John Heitinga was recently named Dutch Voetballer van het Jaar. That’s a Golden Shoe for those of you scoring at home, but not of the goal-scoring variety. Runner-up was Gomes of PSV, which just goes to show you that Dutchmen do appreciate a little defending and keeping every now and then. Heitinga is leaving of course, but he was still given this stirring tribute, brought to you via youtube after the break. I am also including one of those lovely youtube highlight videos. This one has a little more pomp than most. Enjoy, because there is not much going on until Thursday.
